Stampin Stray Ducklings' May Blog Waddle

Welcome to the May Stampin Stray Ducklings’ Blog Waddle! This month we are featuring cards Fathers Day/Masculine cards. You may have arrived here from Nancy Legate’s blog.  Following me is Kim Baker’s blog. Let us know what you think of our projects!

I created my card using the Sailing Home cling stamp set (#149457). The card base is Night of Navy, scored 2 1/8″ in from each end to make the gate-fold. Each front flap has a layer of Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper (#149481) cut to 1 7/8″ x 5 1/4″. On the front is a piece of Crumb Cake with a layer of Very Vanilla. The panel is stamped in Night of Navy and Crumb Cake using images from Sailing Home. I stamped the sentiment from Itty Bitty Birthdays cling stamp set (#148618) in Night of Navy.

Inside the card, I added DSP (Designer Series Paper) panels on the inside of the “gate” panels. The center panel is Very Vanilla cut at 4″ and 5 1/4″, also stamped with images from Sailing Home. The sentiment is from Itty Bitty Birthdays. If you love nautical things, check out these products, some on clearance.

Paper Crafting Blog Hop – Thinking of You!

Welcome to our April Paper Crafting Blog Hop with Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators from all over the globe! Our theme this month is Thinking of You, for the women in your life. You may have arrived from Tracy Held’s blog. She has a fabulous project! I chose the Inspiring Iris photopolymer stamp set (#149268) from the new Mini-Catalog

The card base is Highland Heather with a layer of Whisper White inside. The top layer is cut at 1 1/2″ from the center fold. The bottom piece is 1 1/2″ wide. Each of these sections is layered with a 1 1/4″ piece of Whisper White and then a 1″ piece of Subtles 6×6 DSP Highland Heather (#149615). The Highland Heather layer and the Whisper White layer for the irises are diecut with the Stitched Nested Labels Dies (#149638).

The irises were stamped with my Stamparatus and Stampin’ Write Markers. I placed the stamps on 3 sides of the plates and inked the stamps as much as needed to achieve the color I wanted on the flowers.
