Stamping Buffets

What is a Stamping Buffet? It is an event in my basement Stamp Room (in Central, IL) for stampers to create as many cards as they would like to create in 3 hours. I post a “menu” of 12 cards, 6 new cards each session. You select the box associated with a card and take it to the work table. The supplies for each card are set inside the flap of the envelope. There are additional pieces of cardstock or DSP to die cut, stamp, color etc. in order to complete the card. All cardstock, DSP, ink, stamp sets, dies, ribbon and embellishments to make the card are provided, you bring your favorite adhesive, glue, glue dots, dimensionals, scissors, paper trimmer and anything else you like to use when making cards.

Each card + envelope is $4.00.The only limit is how many you can make in 3 hours.

There are 1 or 2 sessions each month. The cards offered for a session are the same. There are occasionally “leftovers” available, card kits that were not made during a session.

Seating is available for 4 people per session.  Please R.S.V.P. by Friday, before the week of buffets.

Any questions, please contact me!

Monday Mystery Stamping – 9/30/24

Vertical/Portrait card OR Horizontal/Landscape (makes 2 cards)
Clue #1… gather your supplies, All measurements in inches.
Cardstock Base: (colored or white)
– 2 @ 5-1/2 x 8-1/2, score long side at 4-1/4
Optional cardstock layer:
– 2 @ 5-1/4 x 4
DSP:
– 2 @ 5 1/4 x 4 if NOT using the optional cardstock layer, cut in half both directions 2-5/8 by 2
-1 @ 5 x 3 3/4 if using the optional cardstock layer, cut in half both directions 2-1/2 x 1-7/8

Cutting the DSP:
if using directional paper, be sure to cut carefully. Line up the 2 pieces of DSP small rectangles, cut one pair from top left corner to bottom right. Line up the next 2 pieces and cut top right corner to bottom left corner. See the picture

If making the horizontal card, cut the small rectangles the same way, but with the rectangles wider than they are taller. I don’t want my airplanes to fly upside down! See below.

Then lay out the cut rectangles in a pinwheel design and adhere to either the card base or the card layer.

Decorate the card with a die cut or stamped image that coordinates with your DSP! Add a white panel inside for your message, if needed.

I hope you like this easy pinwheel card! Please join us if you like to make a card without knowing what it is until you are done!!

Paper Crafting Blog Hop – New Sept-Dec Mini-Catalog!

So happy you are hopping through our September Paper Crafting Blog Hop with Independent Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from all over the world featuring cards using products from the new Sept-Dec Mini-Catalog! Below my card is a list of links to all of the participating bloggers. Here’s a little preview of my card:

My card features the Regal Flora stamps (#164157), a part of the Regal Flora Bundle (#164034) which also includes the Regal Flora Dies (#164033). You can buy the entire Regal Winter Suite using just one number, #164040. I also used the Distressed Tile 3D Embossing Folder (#162189) and Regal Winter DSP (#164156).

My card base is Basic White, with a layer of Basic White, embossed with the Distressed Embossing Folder. Next, I cut a strip of the Regal Winter DSP and layered a small piece of Early Espresso under the bottom edge with the end cut at an angle. The tag was cut from Basic White using the Greetings of the Season Dies (#164112). The flowers and leaves in the Regal Flora were stamped or colored with Stampin’ Write Markers in Lemon Lolly, Wild Wheat, Pebbled Path, and Old Olive. Other pieces were from Gold Foil die cut with a die from the Cheerful Daisies Dies (#161296). The tag was tied with Gold Trim (#161633) and Baker’s Twine (#16 . Gold Textured Adhesive-Backed Dots (#164027) completed my card.
