Stampin Stray Ducklings August Blog Waddle

Welcome to the August Stampin Stray Ducklings’ Blog Waddle! This month we are featuring cards created with a fun fold. (If you are one of my Mystery Stampers, please go look at another post – ha ha!) You may have arrived here from Nancy Legate’s blog.  Following me is Kim Baker’s blog. Let us know what you think of these fantastic cards!

I created my card using the Gilded Autumn Specialty Designer Series Paper (#153520). The card base is Cajun Craze 11″ tall and 4 1/4″ wide, scored at 5 1/2″. The layer is Blushing Bride, 5 1/4″ x 4″. Each piece of the Gilded Autumn Specialty DSP is 2 1/2″ tall x 1 7/8″ wide. I made a template to equally fold back each center corner. The template is 2 1/2″ tall x 1 7/8″ wide. Mark 1 1/8″ down and 1/2″ in and cut diagonally from one mark to the other. Then just turn the template on each piece to fold the centers back. I did not pay attention to how I cut my paper, therefore the patterns do not continue from one piece to the next, but they don’t really have to line up.

The center square is approximately 1 5/8″ x 1 5/8″ cut from the Stitched Shapes Dies (#152323) in Very Vanilla. I added a layer of Gold Foil under the Very Vanilla square. The stamped image is from Autumn Goodness photopolymer stamp set (#153454). I made this an anniversary card, but it can be used for an occasion. It was stamped in Versamark and heat embossed with Gold Emboss Powder (#109129). I added 3 Gilded Gems (#152478) to complete my card.

August Paper Pumpkin

With Paper Pumpkin, you are provided with everything you need to explore your creativity and discover new ways to craft. As we navigate a “new normal” in today’s world, there’s plenty of opportunity to papercraft! And, more importantly, there’s no better time than now to create something that’ll show the essential people in your life just how awesome you think they are.

Lately, it’s become especially clear who the everyday heroes are—they’ve always surrounded us! Teachers, doctors, hairdressers, nurses, delivery workers, cashiers, and even our friends, kids, and family members go above and beyond to enrich our lives. These people are truly the world’s greatest at what they do!

Celebrate and appreciate the everyday heroes in your life with the August Paper Pumpkin Kit. The cards included in this kit are specifically designed for celebrating life’s champions!

Flowers for Every Season DSP

The Flowers for Every Season Designer Series Paper is not just for feminine cards. The reverse side features neutral simple prints to work well for masculine cards too! Try putting cinnamon cider stripe and the check pattern together for a card.

The smaller 6″ x 6″ pieces are ideal for the fronts of handmade cards, for mini scrapbook albums, and as colorful accents. I just took a class using 6″x6″ papers on 12″x12″ pages. This papercrafting designer series paper staple is great scrapbook paper, card making paper, and more!

* 48 sheets of patterned paper: 4 each of 12 double-sided designs
* 6″ x 6″
* Acid free
* Lignin free

Coordinating product colors: Bumblebee, Cinnamon Cider, Just Jade, Magenta Madness, Misty Moonlight, Poppy Parade, Whisper White

Oops!

I accidentally ordered 2 of these bundles. My mistake gives you the opportunity to have it for $50, instead of the $52.67 it would be to order it on your own. First to comment they want it, gets it.

Scrap Card Saturday

Saturday Scrap card! Scrapbookers who want to make a quick card or Stampers who want to use up Designer Series Paper, Saturday morning posts are for you!

Take a variety of patterned and solid papers and cut 1″ x 5-1/4″ rectangles. The simplest way to make the card is diagonally cut each rectangle and then alternate them across the card. You can cut other smaller pieces, but start out simple!
