Monday Mystery Stamping – 3/24/25

Vertical/Portrait card:
Clue #1… gather your supplies, All measurements in inches.
A really pretty card suggested by Arlesia.

This card has the opportunity to use 3 different DSPs.  I would use something appropriate for the size of each mat. The largest piece of DSP will have a writing panel over much of it.

Cardstock Base A:
1 @ 5-1/2 x 8-1/4, NOTE: NOT 8-1/2 but 8-1/4, score at 1, 2, 3, 4 from one edge
1 @ 4-1/8 x 2-7/8
1 @ 4-7/8 x 3-5/8
DSP:  1 @ 5-1/4 tall x 4 wide
1 @ 3-7/8 x 2-5/8
1 @ 4-5/8 x 3-3/8
Basic White or Very Vanilla:
1 @ 4-1/4 x 3
Focal point: Die cut(s) and sentiments for 2 or 3 panels.

On the edge of the card base closest to the 1″ fold, lightly mark on the edge at 2-3/4 up from the bottom. Cut from that mark to the top of the 4″ score at the top of the card. Fold the base mountain, valley, mountain, valley. Adhere the smallest cardstock panel to the frontmost fold, lining up edges. Adhere the other card stock panel to the next mountain fold, making sure the panel is not obstructing the fold.

**NOTE: If you do not like measuring eighths of an inch, follow these measurements
1 @ 5-1/2 x 8-1/4, NOTE: NOT 8-1/2 but 8-1/4, score at 1, 2, 3, 4 from one edge
1 @ 4 x 2-3/4
1 @ 4-3/4 x 3-1/2
DSP:  1 @ 5-1/4 tall x 4 wide
1 @ 3-3/4 x 2-1/2
1 @ 4-1/2x 3-1/4
Basic White or Very Vanilla:
1 @ 4-1/4 x 3

This photo shows how the panels line up with these measurements. Before you adhere the 2 panels, slide them up to cover the 2 little triangles.

Adhere the panels, hiding the 2 triangles, open the card and trim off 1/8″ across the entire bottom of the card.

My cards aren’t quite completed, but here they are to give you a couple of ideas.

I hope you like this fun-fold card! Please join us if you like to make a card without knowing what it is until you are done!!

Paper Crafting Blog Hop January – April Mini Catalog!

Welcome to our March Paper Crafting Blog Hop with Independent Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from all over the world featuring products from the January – April Mini-Catalog! Here is a sneak peek of my card. Below my full card is a list of links to all of the participating bloggers.

I love the simplicity and versatility of the Bright Borders stamp set (#164753) and the To The Point Label punch (#164568) from the January-April Mini Catalog. My card base is Balmy Blue, with a 3 strips of Floral Delight DSP (#164700) measuring 1-1/8″ x 5″ layered on Old Olive strips (1-1/4 ” x 5-1/8″). This gorgeous DSP is a part of the Floral Delight Suite (#164716) and you have strips leftover if you already cut 6 pieces of DSP at 4″ x 5-1/4″ for other cards. Great way to use up scraps!

Next I stamped the Bright Border stamp in Old Olive on Basic White and colored in the flowers with Daffodil Delight and Crushed Curry Stampin’ Write Markers. The label is popped up on Dimensionals (#104430). A bow of Daffodil Delight 1/8″ Satin Ribbon (#164715) and a Tiny Bee Trinket (#164714) complete my card. ?demoid=84648

Stamping Stray Ducklings Blog Waddle-Technique Time!

Welcome to our March Blog Waddle! We call ourselves ducklings, so we waddle from blog post to blog post, instead of hop!! We are featuring techniques this month! I had to use more than one technique for my card. Here’s a preview of my card. Can you pick out some of the techniques I used?

The card base is Basic White with the front half of it embossed with the Distressed Tile 3D Embossing Folder (#162189). Then a layer of Basic White with words from the Elements of Text (#164774) stamp set found in the Online Exclusives, stamped in Petunia Pop. Next, I used Blending Brushes (#153611) and Petunia Pop, Fresh Freesia, Bubble Bath to cover parts of the layer. Then I stamped the outline flower from Flowers of Beauty Bundle (#163376) in Versamark Ink (#102283) and heat embossed them with white embossing powder from the Basics WOW! Embossing Powder (#165679) collection. Then I flicked water on the layer, something I had never done before!

I added the die cut in Basic White from the Flowers of Beauty Bundle (#163376) and a double bow with the White 1/4″ ribbon (#165562) and the white Baker’s Twine from the Baker’s Twine Essentials Pack (#155475). I used the Delightful Wishes Bundle (#164710) for the Basic White die cut and the sentiment with its and die cut. I shortened the length of the die cut for the sentiment by partially cutting the sentiment from one end, then adjusting the die to the length I wanted and cutting from that end. Three Iridescent Pearl Basic Jewels (#158987)completed my card!

The techniques I used are:
-Blending ink with blending brushes
– Flicking water on the background
– Heat embossing
-Shortening a sentiment die cut

Monday Mystery Stamping – 3/10/25

Vertical/Portrait card:
Clue #1… gather your supplies, All measurements in inches.

Get ready to dig through your paper stash!! You don’t need full quarter sheets for these cards! Yes, these, we are making 3 cards in a very short time!
The key to these cards is your DSP.  I would use double-sided and mostly non-directional with 2 smallish patterns and 1 maybe medium.  You can use 3 smallish patterns, too.

Clue #1   …  Gather your supplies: All measurements in inches.  This is a portrait/vertical card.

Cardstock Base A: Based on your DSP.  Can be the same or different.
3 @ 5-1/2 x 8-1/2, scored at 4-1/4
Cardstock B:Based on your Card base and DSP choices.  Can be the same or different.
3 @ 5-1/4 x 4
DSP: Double-sided DSP is probably best.
3 @ 4-3/4 tall x 3-3/4 wide
Basic White or Very Vanilla:
1 @ 5 x 4-1/4 for the inside if your card base is dark
Focal point: I would add a sentiment for the front of the card.
OPTIONAL: Die cut(s)

Stack all 3 pieces of your DSP together and mark the top sheet as shown below. Then cut on the lines from side to side.

Here are my 3 cards with the 3 patterns. You can see each one is at the top, middle and bottom on the 3 cards.

You can also turn over the DSP if there is a pattern there that you like better.

I hope you like this fun-fold card! Please join us if you like to make a card without knowing what it is until you are done!!

optional: 2-3/4 square to back sentiment or die cut(s)

DSP:  can be scenic, 3 or 4 complimentary patterns, all one pattern
