Tuesday Tip – The longer you hold an inked stamp on the cardstock, the more ink that transfers. This applies to first generation stamping and also second generation or stamping off, like the cupcake in these samples.
Welcome to our August Blog Waddle! We call ourselves ducklings, so we waddle from blog post to blog post, instead of hopping!! We are featuring fun fold cards! Here’s a preview of my card.
I love the Charming Day Bundle (#166136) and the coordinating Floral Charm DSP (#166125). The DSP is 15% off this month while supplies last, so if you love it, too, order it soon! The card base is Berry Burst measuring 5-1/2″ x 11″, scored at 4-1/4″ and 8″. With the 4-1/4″ panel to your left, create an angle by cutting from the top of the middle score line down to the next score line, about 2 3/4″ from the bottom of the card. Then cut from the bottom of the angle in a straight line to create the small flap that is the front of the card.
DSP on the small front flap is cut to 2 3/4″ x 2 1/2″. The Brights DSP (#165301) on middle panel and the white panel behind it on the inside are both cut to 3 1/2″ x 5 1/4″. Cut on an angle from the top left down to about 2 1/2″ from the bottom. Cut on an angle from the top left down to about 2 1/2″ from the bottom right. I stamped and colored a flower from the Charming Day stamp set and die cut it. I cut a Stitched Shapes circle from the left over triangle of Brights DSP and added the flower on top and White 1/4″ Ribbon (#165276)behind it.

Clue #1 Vertical/Portrait card, Gather your supplies: Colored Card Stock: card base* – 1 @ 5-1/2 x 4-1/4 OPTIONAL If putting this on the back of your card, cut your DSP to only 5-1/4 TALL X 12 WIDE. DSP: – 1 @ 5-1/2 TALL x 12 WIDE, best to like both sides of your DSP. You will see more of one side than the other. Score at 3, 6-1/2, 10-1/2. Your front of card will be the left end 3” panel; fold mountain, valley, valley. White/Vanilla Card Stock (CS): – 1 or 2 @ approx. 3 x 4-1/2 Rectangle, Oval, Arch, Label or a little smaller. There are SO many options to finish your card. I used ovals matted with oval scallops behind, 2 sizes of the old Deco Labels Dies, and more. Look at the samples to see what you might like to do for your card! Embellishments: – for embellishments, use something that goes along with your DSP. You can use a lot or just a little.
I hope you like this easy fun-fold card! Please join us if you like to make a card without knowing what it is until you are done!!
