Welcome to our November Blog Waddle! We are featuring our wonderfully, always coordinated Designer Series Paper, also known as DSP!!
I picked the Oh Holy Night 12″ x 12″ DSP (#161986). This gorgeous Designer Series Paper pairs so beautifully with Night Divine Bundle (#161997) and the Stars at Night Bundle (#162007) to create a wide variety of Christmas cards. Here is a preview of my card.

My card base is Very Vanilla with a layer of the DSP cut from the bottom of the piece. The stable and camel were cut from Pecan Pie, the Holy family in Basic Black, and the animals from Basic Gray using the Night Divine Dies (#161996). The star was die cut using the Stars at Night Hybrid Embossing Folder (162006).

The front is so beautiful, I put the sentiment in side using .

Clue #1… gather your supplies All measurements in inches.
Colored Card Stock A:
– 1 piece 5-1/2 x 4-1/4
– 1 piece 1 x 5-1/2
Designer Series Paper (DSP) : Works best with smallish non-directional pattern, use 1, 2 or 3 patterns
– 1 piece 4 (tall) x 3-1/4 (wide)
– 1 piece 3/4 (tall) x 5-1/4 (wide)
– 1 piece 1-7/8 (tall) x 3-1/4 (wide)
White/Vanilla Card Stock:
– 1 piece 3-1/4 (wide) x 1-7/8 (tall)
OPTIONAL:
Card Stock A or complimentary to Card Stock A:
– 1 piece 5-1/2 x 4-1/4 for an added base
White/Vanilla Card Stock:
– 1 piece 5-1/4 x 4 for writing a longer message
Die Cuts, Embellishments, Stamps:– small ribbon, small embellishments
Cut and score one cardstock base piece as shown below.

Cut the non-directional DSP as follows. If you want to use directional DSP, cut 2 pieces of DSP 4 x 2-3/4 and cut each piece separately.

The key to this card is to rotate the cut & scored base so it looks like this. It can be rotated either direction. Add then DSP pieces and the small piece for your message or add decoration to the “backside” of the part that stands up.

Here is my card with the added base:

Welcome to our October Blog Waddle! We are featuring Designer Series Paper a.k.a. DSP, to create our cards!! I decided on the Countryside Inn 12″ x 12″ DSP (#161467). Do you pick the DSP for your card and let it decide the type of card you make or do you find the DSP to fit the card you want to make? Here are all of the patterns in the Countryside Inn DSP.

I picked the DSP first for my card. I wanted to use several patterns. I used 6 different patterned papers!

My card base is Night of Navy with a layer of the returning color, Misty Moonlight. Then I cut 4 of the patterns at 2-1/2″ x 1-1/4″ being careful of the direction of the pattern and 2 patterns at 1-1/4″ x 1-1/4″. The Basic White piece is also 2-1/2″ x 1-1/4″.
The flowers and leaves were die cut with the Around the Bend Dies (#160649). The sentiment from Circle Sayings (#161348) was stamped in Boho Blue. I added a bow of Night of Navy 3/8″ Bordered Ribbon (#160581) to complete my card.

Vertical card – Thank you to Arlene for suggesting this card!
Clue #1… gather your supplies All measurements in inches.
Colored Card Stock A: –
1 piece 5-1/2 x 8-1/2, score on long side @ 4-1/4 OR– 1 piece 4-1/4 x 11, score on long side @ 5-1/2 (You can make this card on just a 5-1/2 x 4-1/4 base)
– 1 @ 3-1/4 x 4-1/2. (maybe slightly narrower so it will slide)
Colored Card Stock B: (complimentary to base)
– 1 @ 4 x 5-1/4 for card front
Designer Series Paper (DSP) :
– 1 @ 3-3/4 x 5 (front of card)
White/Vanilla Card Stock:– 1 @ 4 x 5-1/4 for the inside of the card, if your base is dark
scraps for other things
Other things:- DIMENSIONALS are essential for this card- Iong skinny punch or die, circle punch (about 1″ in diameter)- you will need a theme for your card, flowers, Halloween, birthday and at least one item for the front of your card, not too big. you may want to wait and see how the card goes together!
This is a Tab Slider card. It may also be called a Double Slider card, but those are usually a little different. Adhere the DSP to the complimentary cardstock for the card front. Do NOT adhere to the card base. Measure in about 3/4″ from the left side of this panel. Measure down 1″ from the top and up 1″ from the bottom along that 3/4″ inset from the side. Draw a line from top to bottom. If you are not using black or really dark complimentary cardstock, you can draw this line on the back of the panel. Use the line to guide where you punch or cut out the slot. This needs to be the width of a dimensional. Now punch a 1/2 circle at the top of the panel. It can be centered or offset to the right. ALTERNATIVE: Center the slot if you are using a large image to slide on the front.
Now, center the slider piece of cardstock (3-1/4 x 4-1/2) same color as the base at the top and on the backside of the panel. Punch a hole for the ribbon to show in the semicircle. Decorate the front of the slider panel. About the top 2/3 of the slider will be visible. Tie a ribbon through the hole. Center the slider on the back of the front panel at the top. Turn it over and add a dimensional towards the bottom of the slot. Add the die cut to the top of the dimensional watching the left edge of the card. Apply strong adhesive around the edge of the backside of the front panel, allowing the slider to move up and down. If adding something thick to the slider, use thin dimensional tape. Adhere to the card base. Add a sentiment to the front, message inside, embellish!

Welcome to our September Blog Waddle! We are featuring new Stampin’ products from the Sept-Dec Mini-catalog on our cards!!
I picked the Rustic Crate bundle(#162268) for my card. The bundle includes the Rustic Crate stamp set (#162265) and the Rustic Crate Dies (#162267). I am especially fascinated with the crate!

The card base is Crushed Curry with a layer of Inked Botanicals 6″ X 6″ DSP (#161157). I added a piece of Basic Black for interest. The crate is die cut from Pecan Pie and Basic Black. (Hint: the larger of the crate pieces folds forward.) The fall arrangement was colored wit Stampin’ Blends and Stampin Write Markers: Pumpkin Pie, Crushed Curry, Old Olive, Wild Wheat, Early Espresso, Cherry Cobbler and Pecan Pie. The sentiment is stamped in Basic Black and I fussy cut the ends. A bow of Black & White Gingham ribbon (#156485) completes my card.
