Monday Mystery Stamping – 5/13/24

Oops, not the best picture of our cards!

Horizontal/Landscape card
Clue #1… gather your supplies, All measurements in inches.

Cardstock A:
Card base: 1 – 4-1/4 x 7-1/2, score at 2 & 5-1/2. Make a pencil mark at 2″ up from the bottom. Cut off from that point to the score line on each end.
Shelves: 1 – 3-7/8 x 4-1/4 score on the 4-1/4 side at 3/8 from each end. Adhere tear tape to the 3/8 pieces, near the score line. Cut on the 3-7/8 side at 1 & the 1-1/4, which leaves a 1-5/8 piece.
OPTIONAL Stand on the back of the card, for lots of writing. 1 – 3-1/2 x 8 x ½ (wait until your card is done to decide if you want this piece) score at 4-1/4

DSP A:
1 – 3-1/4 wide x 4 tall, goes inside the back of the base
2 – 3-1/2 wide x 3-7/8 tall, these can be the same pattern or different or 1 piece can be for the front and 1 for inside. Can also be from a scenic pattern the same as the first piece of DSP. These are the layers for the side flaps, inside and out. Cut these 2 pieces in half at 1-3/4. Pair up the halves with back or wrong sides together. Make a mark at 2″ DOWN from the top and cut up to the other side of the DSP. If done correctly, your4 pieces will look like the pieces on the left below. Otherwise, you get the look on the right.

DSP B: small pattern
1 – 3-1/4 wide x 3-1/8 tall, this will become the DSP for the “shelves”. cut on the 3-1/8 side at 3/4 and then 1, leaving a 1-3/8 piece. Adhere these pieces to the strips cut from cardstock piece #2.
Adhere all DSP to the outside and inside of the card. See the picture below for the placement of the shelves on the base. There is a wonderful trick to add the shelves, but it takes a little time to explain. Contact me and I will show you how to do that!

White/Vanilla:
–   1 @  3-1/4 x 4, this goes on the back of the card base for your message.

Tear tape will be helpful for this card, it moves!!

I hope you like this Multi-tiered shelf card! It’s a new way to get the look of the Pop-Up Box card we did many years ago! Please join us if you like to make a card without knowing what it is until you are done!!

Monday Mystery Stamping – 4/15/24

Horizontal/Landscape card
Clue #1… gather your supplies, All measurements in inches.
Colored Card Stock Base:
–   1 @ 5-1/2 x 8-1/2, score the long side at 4-1/4
– 2 @ 1-1/2 x 5 score short side (1-1/2) at 3/4 (in half), then lightly mark at 1-1/2 from one end on both 5″ edges of the piece.  Using your scorer, score from one corner to the 1-1/2 mark in each direction, making an X. They should look like this:

Next, cut off the two pieces marked with hash marks. The pieces will be mirror images of each other.
– 2 @ 2 x 3-1/2 (same as other cardstock)
Designer Series Paper A (DSP) :
–   1 @ 4 tall x 5-1/4 wide, for the front maybe a bold pattern
Designer Series Paper B (DSP) :
– 1 @ 4 tall x 5-1/4 wide for inside (OPTIONAL, could be a different bold pattern)
Designer Series Paper C (DSP) :
– 2 @ 1/2 x 4, covers the mechanism on each side, inside
Designer Series Paper D (DSP) :
– 2 @ 1-7/8 wide x 3-3/8 tall, outside the doors
Designer Series Paper E (DSP) :
– 2 @ 1-7/8 wide x 3-3/8 tall, inside the doors, could be more subtle
White/Vanilla Card Stock:
– 1 @ 3-3/4 x 8 score long side @ 4 (middle of card, lots of space for stamping and message) OR
– 1 @ 3-3/4 x 4, not so much space for stamping and message
– 2 @ 1-7/8 x 3-3/8 (OPTIONAL) instead of one of the DSP D or E patterns above, if you want to stamp something

Adhere the 2 long pieces of cardstock as shown below. Fold towards the middle, edges lined up at the bottom and along the sides, adhesive ONLY on the side closest to the edge of the card.

Adhere the 2 pieces of 2 x 3-1/2 cardstock, doors, to the opened edge pieces, one on each side of the folded pieces already adhered.

Adhere all DSP to the outside and inside of the card.

Now you can adhere the small triangle at the top of each mechanism on the sides to the front of the card. Glue only goes on the smallest triangle at the top, then close the card and let it dry completely.

Here are the insides of our cards!! What do you think?

I hope you like this Double door or dual door card! Please join us if you like to make a card without knowing what it is until you are done!!

Other Supplies:
–   Your primary embellishment needs to fit inside the inside of your shape, mostly.-   SCORER, CUTTER, embellishments, punched/die cuts, adhesives, stamps, inks, etc.

Stamping Stray Ducklings January-April Blog Waddle!

Welcome to our March Blog Waddle! We call ourselves ducklings, so we waddle instead of hop!! We are featuring projects created from the January-April Mini-Catalog. It isn’t very “mini” as there are lots of goodies in there! Here is a close up of the details of my card.

I began with a Bubble Bath base and a layer of about 5 x 3-3/4. Behind the top layer is a very narrow layer of Berry Burst. I used the Layered Florals 3D Embossing Folder (#162935) on the smaller layer of Bubble Bath. Isn’t that a stunning embossing folder? Using scraps of Basic White and Berry Burst I die cute them with the 2 smallest dies in the Thoughtful Expressions Dies (#162821). I stamped Thank You from Something Fancy (#160416) in Berry Burst on the Basic White piece. I completed my quick card with a piece of pink ribbon from the 3/8″ (1 cm) Sheer Ribbon Combo Pack (#161635). Here is my completed card!
